What service to use when the customer wants 2nd day shipping
Priority Mail (USPS) is not really 2-day. I might get there in two, but more often three. And if it is going cross-country, even longer. Priority isn't really that much of a benefit over regular mail except that they give you the box. Note that USPS tracking is very poor. They only update tracking information once a day (at night) and even then it runs a day or more behind. I have had packages delivered to my home - but when I look on the USPS tracking website it says "waiting for shipper".
UPS and FedEx both have two-day services that you can trust. However, they cost considerably more than the USPS. I suppose you are paying for the guaranteed (and trackable) delivery. copyright ybarra-cgm
So it really depends what it is worth to you (and the customer) to get it there at the right time. copyright ybarra-cgm
