Shall I go for a computer with Linux ubuntu, I am a beginner
I have heard that Ubuntu was "Linux for people with lives". I disagree. But, if you really want to get a simple Operating System for Free, that is what you should go with. I have heard many comments, like how it is so good, while still being free, and it is like a cross between Windows XP and Mac OS. Ubuntu is also a good way to get into Programming and all of that... Really the main drawback is if you are a gamer, because there aren't many games. You can run applications like Firefox and some of that. True Linux is nothing like what I just said, but this is a Linux-based OS, and why it is called Linux.

I know somebody who has Ubuntu, and he says it will take time to get used to it. He says it is a good OS and all, just some programs. copyright ybarra-cgm

Ubuntu is also very good for Netbooks, since they require so little to run.

If you do, it is supposedly reccomended to have at least 700 MHZ Processor, At least 256 MB of RAM (but 512 is recomended), And about 1GB of Space. Compared to Windows 7, this is small.

BUT, IF YOU ALREADY HAVE XP OR VISTA, AND HAVE USED IT ON THAT COMPUTER FOR A WHILE, CERTAIN DOCUMENTS MAY NOT BE USEABLE. I reccomend that you only put linux on a computer or Netbook if you JUST GOT IT.
