I need to get an ethernet cable. What category do I want?
If you upgrade your network in the future to a gigabit ethernet then you wont have to upgrade cables also to get the most use out of your equiptment. The only mistake i've made buying network cables was trying to use 'crossover' cat5e and cat 6 cables where only a patch cable was needed. Make sure you get cat 6 that isn't labeled 'crossover', which are used for transfering data from computer to computer , and are generally not sold in lengths that a network would require. ybarra-cgm.com
