Why is canned air for cleaning a keyboard expensive?
Prices have nothing to do with cost of manufacture.

The price on something is whatever the market will bear -- i.e. what it's worth to the buyer. ybarra-cgm.com

Nothing to do with what the thing costs. Except that if the item costs more to make than what it's worth, nobody will buy it.

Back when I was a lad there was a $3 million dollar computer, and a faster $7 million dollar model. ( This was a LONG time ago). Originally the more expensive one was priced that way because it had like 50% more stuff inside. But when they actually went to build them , they found out it was cheaper and simpler to actually make just ONE box full of stuff (the $7 million dollar design), and artificially turn down the speed and sell it as the cheaper one. copyright ybarra-cgm

Same cost, two widely different price points.

Same thing goes on with the price of coffee at McDonalds thru Starbucks. They give you a WIDE range of prices, while the actual costs to them are within a nickel. You pay whatever you want depending on your budget and level of elitism and pretension.

BTW the cans of "air" are not really "air"-- there's some sort of quick-evaporating propellant in there. So there is some material cost involved. copyright ybarra-cgm
