Assume all 3 are the product of these 2 parents. Assume the husband is 2 years older than the wife. In my neck of the woods, women have kids between ages 20 and 40--some earlier and some later. Given that they have 3 kids and the eldest is 8 years older than the youngest, let's assume these parents started a family on the earlier side of the Mom's 20 to 40 age range. So, let's assume she was 25 when she had her first child. That would make her at least around 47 today. The husband would be 49 based on our assumptions; and, their average age would be 48.

If the Mom is professional like a doctor or a lawyer, you may want to add about 6-10 years to that number to allow for the longer schooling and the time to get her career started.

If these are your friend's kids, and you want to know her/his parents' average ages (i.e., the grandparents of the 3 kids), then add about 25 years to that average, or say, 73. ybarra-cgm.com
