How much should a reading specialist charge per hour?

Last time I checked Syl--n Learning Centers paid $12 an hour for tutoring.  I’d suggest charging $20- $30 an hour if the tutor has specialized training, certification, and experience in tutoring reading.  If the tutor gets someone who needs a lot of help - she or he is earning it. If the student is more rewarding, and fairly easy to tutor, the rate can always be reduced for "quantity". If the tutor is doing this professionally (which is the only way to do it), she’ll probably want to claim the income on her/his Federal Tax return, and, then she can deduct expenses - a percentage of office costs, phone usage, printing cards or advertising flyers, cost of a portion of computer costs, if she or he is using some of those nifty reading computer programs, etc.
