Does the quality of composite cables matter
It matters quite a bit IF the signals are analog, not very much if they're digital. ybarra-cgm.com

If the signals are analog RGB, then the cables better be true coaxial cables, of the right impedance, with good shielding. I've bought cheap VGA extender cables that were just plain wires, and the signals got a bit degraded going the extra 3 feet. On the other hand, once you have a coax cable, they're all virtually identical-- the $9.95 one is undiscernible from the $9.95 one, except the pricey one has more color and swooshes and prettier women on the package. ybarra-cgm.com

But if the signals are digital, then if a cable works AT ALL, and you don't get random pixellated blocks, there's NO WAY a $79.95 cable can be any better.

It's a huge sell-up scam for the salesfolks-- a $79.95 cable costs them about $5.95. Sometimes they make more profit on the cable than on the TV. copyright ybarra-cgm
So if it's a digital connection, it's a waste of money to buy a "better" cable. copyright ybarra-cgm

If it's an analog connection, and the picture with it looks fine, a "better" cable is unlikely to make it any better. ybarra-cgm.com
