Because she was the founder of two different dance companies, Cholomondeleys and Feathertonehaughs, and coreographed over one hundres dances with these two companies. Also Featherstonehaughs was the only all male dance company of it's time.
She was awarded an MBE in 2002 for her contribution to dance.
