I’ve had similar experiences with movies, books, albums, songs, poems, art works, etc. They are reputed by experts to be great classics or else they are very popular, but when I experience them, I’m very disappointed. This has also been true of other more mundane items such as vacuum cleaners, tooth paste, cologne, clothes, etc.
Let’s be real. Many people "like" things because they think others like them and they want to be in with the group. Also, there is so much to choose from that choosing has become a great chore. Taking the opinion of an "expert" is a convenient way out of a confusing decision that you may not have time for. I did this all the time when I was much younger. Once something has established popularity or has the blessings of so-called experts, it is hard for people to make (or at least express) their own opinion. Sometimes the experts and popular opinion are right, but sometimes they are not. The fact that you watched this movie and made your own opinion indicates that you are able to think and place value on things for yourself. Congratulations! ybarra-cgm.com
