Did you see Alice in Wonderland yet? What did you think?
with a US feminist twist to a children's story that turns into World of Warcraft at the end and Alice in armour like Jeanne d'Arc. Alice says things like 'You have to live for yourself' which aren't quite what the Victorian little girl said in the original. I liked the Englishness of it, but then again I live in London. The 3D effects are fun and it is worth seeing. I was expecting the chess game battle at the end which never happened. It's a Victorian fantasy book skewed towards a US teenager market, essentially. It moves along quickly as well to cope with adolescent attention spans, I suspect. Good news: the croquet match using flamingos as mallets is still there. The frog that stole the jam tarts episode is fun. An interesting night out. copyright ybarra-cgm
